There is a note on the Reference Desk blotter that is obsolete. According to Allan, all Scholar's Workstations now should be able to handle MS Works files.

MS Works is a cheaper version of the Microsoft Office package. Last year we had students with MS Works files that they wanted to print or edit and they were not able to do so except only on a couple computers.

The Beyond 20/20 browser that is required to view data files from Internet Data Library System is installed on Leddy01, Leddy03 & Scholar46.

Users can also download the Beyond 20/20 browser by going to IDLS, selecting the item name from the left hand menu. If you scroll down the main frame, you can find the link to the download page there.

Reference Desk Schedule: Sept 1-7

All links to Canadian News Disc have been removed from the website. At least, I think they have... let me know if I missed any of them.

Canadian News Disc was discontinued. Use Canadian Newsstand instead.

All the Education Guides have been updated. As well, there are two new pages worth knowing about.

Available from the Education Guide, How to Find Educational Tests & Measurements are links to two lists. The lists describe the the "hidden" gem in our microfiche cabinet in the basement of the main building of the library: 300 Educational Tests and Measurements. They are in cabinet #30, bottom drawer and the tests are arranged in numerical order.

Monica has made two lists to make these tests more visible to students. One in numerical order and the other in alphabetical order.

Hey Karen - tomorrow I will put links to this blog (and blogger) on the Reference Desk computers.

I was at the reference dask yesterday. Maybe I was too busy helping people to notice. Can we please put this blogger as a quick link of the main page? (If it isn't already there?) It would even help if it was the "homepage", that way, anyone who was looking for today's news could see it effortlessly! What do you think? Anyone out there?
